Position: Equipment Operator - Concrete Paving Operator
 
Overview:
 
Operate several types and sizes of subgrade trimming and concrete paving equipment.  Equipment includes trimmers, placers and pavers.  Perform tasks involving physical labor at construction projects.
 
Typical Duties:

• Trim subgrade by operating equipment
• Place concrete by operating equipment
• Finish concrete by operating equipment
• Inspect equipment daily
• Maintain and clean equipment
• Setup equipment task
• Able to receive hand signal instructions from others
• Use of hand tools and power tools for equipment maintenance
• Types of machines used: Gomaco, Guntert & Zimmerman & CMI
• Properly follow OSHA safety procedures
• Responsible for other duties assigned for the job

Qualifications:

• 2+ years experience in field or related field
• Understanding of stringline and or GPS technology
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions
• Ability to give and understand hand signals
• Regular and punctual attendance
• Applicants who are offered employment will be required to submit to a Drug/Alcohol test and a functional capacity evaluation. This evaluation, which applies to all incoming construction labor employees, is done to determine whether the employee is suited to and capable of performing the essential functions of the position offered.

Physical Requirements:

• Climbing, Balancing on walkways
• Standing, Bending, Kneeling, Stooping, Crouching, Crawling, Twisting
• Reaching, Handling, Grasping
• Lifting 50 pounds
• Carry objects 50 to 100 pounds

Work Conditions:

• Environment is outside conditions that involves all weather extremes
• Construction site with uneven terrain and mobile constriction equipment
